Some blockbuster labels will return for the fall/winter 2023 schedule. Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs, and Tom Ford are conspicuously absent from New York, as are Marni, Boss, and Versace, who are both hosting shows in Los Angeles.
Alexander McQueen, meanwhile, has returned to Paris after several seasons of exhibiting outside of schedule in London.
Of course, the most eagerly awaited new arrival is in London, where Burberry’s newly appointed artistic director Daniel Lee will outline his plans for the brand.
Here is Vogue’s guide to what the big four can be expected to do this season.
NEW YORK
Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs, and Tom Ford are all missing from the Big Apple’s schedule this season, making it a little quieter in terms of household name behemoths.
But the city makes up for what it lacks in established artists with hotly anticipated up-and-coming labels like Luar, Elena Velez, Willy Chavarria, Interior, and Head of State. Watch out for some upcoming fashion stars.
MILAN
Milan still promises a lineup of mega brands, from Prada to Fendi, Bottega Veneta to Emporio Armani, despite the absence of Versace, Marni, and Boss. As Marco de Vincenzo debuts his second womenswear collection for Etro, Maximilian Davis will present his second show for Ferragamo.
PARIS
It’s a schedule of changes, with Dundas, Y/Project, and Pierre Cardin returning to the lineup while Louis Vuitton switches from ending the season to an earlier date slot. Palm Angels is one novice to be on the lookout for.
Additionally, Harris Reed will make his debut as a creative force for Nina Ricci, while Ludovic de Saint Sernin will make his debut as the director of Ann Demeulemeester.
LONDON
Anderson, JW Goddard, Molly Kane, Christopher Erdem! Roksanda! After a much quieter than anticipated spring/summer 2023 season, when the country was thrown into a period of mourning following the Queen’s death, London’s most beloved stars are back with a bang.
The big news is the arrival of Daniel Lee at Burberry, a British heritage brand, as well as the reappearance of Julien Macdonald and Mowalola.
